What are the trends in bridal hairstyles?

We interviewed José Valle, Creative Director of the Backstage Barcelona show

I am particularly very basic when it comes to styling a bride's hair, and I don't like the bride to look like she is going to make her communion or that she is straight out of the circus. A perfect bride for me would be a parting in the middle and a very low ponytail that was a little puffy , something that was both simple and very elegant . Of course, to taste the colors.

We are already mixing the fusion of the seventies a little together with that gogo effect and also that braided romantic effect that is still strong, but I see that it goes a little more between the mixture of the fifties and the seventies.

Now what we were starting to see on the catwalks were classic hairstyles, Grace Kelly type. We already saw Charlize Theron at the last awards with her hair styled like this.

Then we saw a typical ballerina hairstyle and a little bit of the wig of Psycho's mother, in Bates Motel , Norman Bates' mother. That ballerina hairstyle that is parted in the middle with a low curled bun . The only thing is that now the hairstyles have that effect as if they have taken a nap , like you have slept a little, a couple of hours and the hair has curled up. That messy as well as loose effect , a little poorly done, but everything has its technique.

Now the hair is sewn, it is a special thread and a plastic wool needle... the head is loose, free, without weight and that is an advantage.

Mimoke: Where the current trend in bridal hairstyles is inspired

José Valle:

From the simplicity of the seventies when it came to marking a central part and a low updo. To the simplification of the fifties.

As for color, it is always the natural bride . But, we can talk about the trend of the bride wearing the same shades, but of course the colors depend on taste. There are those who wear natural hair, balayage, or dyes.

I think that one has to be as one is , we have always seen that brides should be completely natural, with totally soft makeup, but you really have to be as you are, whether you wear makeup or not. Each one has to go as one feels, that is individuality. There must be good advice and have a good chat with the bride, ask her questions and investigate what tastes she has, what music she likes, what places she frequents, in short, getting to know the person. On that basis, make an accurate diagnosis. There are those who say to do the hairstyle first and then the headdress, I am of the opinion that you buy the dress and the headdress that you fall in love with and based on what you have a little taste in your head and on what I see well I say with this headdress and with this veil you are going to comb your hair. Because you also have to respect the design of the dress that goes along with the veil, or the decorations as well as the headdresses and the image is built on that.

Mimoke: And about the groom's hairstyles

Jose Valle:

For a boyfriend, I like the hair to be in its place. I really like the leading man from the forties and fifties . I really like the twenties, the groom's hair is super well groomed.

But each one has their personality, although you have to insist a little more on the guys who dress up less that this is a wedding. The outfit you are wearing, how she is going to have her hair styled, you even have to advise them that the skin has to be treated. A moisturizer, something that gives them a good tone. If she doesn't come out with super makeup and he with dark circles, you have to keep in mind that the boyfriend is also very important.

He must look like he does, even with a hipster beard, he can't be seen dressed up. There is nothing more horrible than someone feeling dressed up, especially on such an important day since they don't enjoy it. If you feel uncomfortable, the greatest day of your life can be the most horrible. Although of course, have a nice and well-groomed beard, without losing the taste of the groom, well-groomed hair and hydrated skin.

Mimoke: Trends for perfect guest hairstyles

Jose Valle:

As for the guests, well, it's a little three-quarters of the same. You base it on what you usually wear on a weekend and then it's a little bit like a fancy costume, or like the Austin Powers look.

You go to the spectacular wedding, attracting attention. Although of course, there are those who like to go unnoticed but hey, it is much more fun to be the one who attracts attention.

The color is a little bit that stands out.

Now the hairstyles are becoming semi-updos, or very wavy hair, as if she had made some braids and brushed them, Rita Hayworth hairstyles, braided updos. What dominates are wavy hair and low updos .
